The Department of Technology clarified today that the CalCloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering (in cooperation with and managed by IBM) has implemented a security program which adheres with the framework dictated by the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).  Through an in-depth process over the past 18 months, approximately 325 required controls, processes, and documentation have been implemented as proscribed by FedRAMP.  With this announcement, customers utilizing the CalCloud IaaS now have a foundation for their applications to achieve compliance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology security publications, as generally required by many Federal programs, as well as by the California State Administrative Manual.  Public sector customers interested in CalCloud IaaS should contact the Department of Technology for more information.
