SACRAMENTO, CA – the California State Fair has announced a new award – the Champion of Technology. This award was created to recognize a superior effort by a technology leader or organization for the benefit of all Californians. Since 1854, the California State Fair has showcased the advancements of the State’s leading industries: agriculture, food science, viticulture and ranching, not to mention all those who receive recognition through competition.

Since California is the birthplace of many of the technological achievements the world knows today, it’s a natural progression to acknowledge exceptional innovations and technological developments with this inaugural award. In celebration of the technology industry in California, the California State Fair presents the 2014 Technology Champion Award.

The Technology Champion of the Year will be awarded to a technology industry leader or organization for remarkable contributions to California’s technology industry. The Technology Champion must have demonstrated outstanding leadership and clearly benefited the residents of California through a pursuit of commendable technological achievement.

ELIGIBILITY: open to individuals that reside in California or businesses headquartered in California.
