California Department of Technology staff spoke and presented information on technology state careers at the 13th Annual Cesar E. Chavez Youth Leadership Conference held Saturday, March 15, 2014. The event featured college and career workshops as well as an art, education, health and job fair.

The goal of the conference was to help youths learn how to get involved in the community and become community leaders, learn about social and political issues, and how to pursue educational opportunities beyond high school. Deputy Director of Broadband and Digital Literacy Adelina Zendejas, Deputy Director Christie Borchin, Office of Professional Development, Caroline Lopez, Chief of Operations, Office of Professional Development, and Gabe Okamoto, Youth Aide at the Director’s Office, Deputy of Toxic Substances (Gabe is a high school senior who spoke about his experience getting his position as a youth aide and his interest in promoting public service) spoke and presented at Saturday’s event.
