SACRAMENTO – The California Technology Agency released a Technology Letter (TL) today announcing the approval process for smartphone purchases by State agencies and departments.
TL 13-01 requires State agencies and departments to seek approval from the California Technology Agency before purchasing smartphones. The TL also requires agencies and departments to demonstrate how the smartphone will meet a significant business need within the organization, how it will cost-effectively increase efficiencies and that the device complies with State security policies and standards.
Technology Letters (TL) are issued by the California Technology Agency to convey official communications regarding State information technology policies and procedures.
