Last week, State and Consumer Services Agency chief information officer (CIO) Andrew Armani took on an additional assignment as interim CIO for the Department of General Services (DGS). He replaces Tom Jones who is no longer with the department.
Armani has rolled up his sleeves to manage the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Services Division which has 120 employees. He reports directly to recently appointed DGS Director Fred Klass, while serving in his current capacity at SCSA.
He has served as agency CIO at SCSA for 10 years. The agency has oversight of DGS, Department of Consumer Affairs and various other departments, boards and commissions.
Armani also serves as co-executive sponsor of the E-Mail, Directory, and Collaboration Services Work group for the statewide IT consolidation initiative.
