Please join me in congratulating and thanking Rachelle Chong as she leaves the Technology Agency for an exciting new opportunity with Comcast California, where she will serve as Vice President of Government Affairs for the California Region. We appreciate all that Rachelle has done for us and the technology community during her two-year tenure as Special Counsel for Advanced Information and Communications Technologies.

A nationally-renowned expert on broadband, communications and broadcast policy, she was appointed to the Technology Agency in January 2010 by Governor Schwarzenegger to focus on California’s broadband, digital literacy and public safety communications initiatives, including the Next Generation 9-1-1 system. Over her distinguished, 27-year career, she has served as a member of the California Public Utilities Commission and the Federal Communications Commission, as well as practicing law in the private sector with firms in Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Palo Alto.

Her expertise, hard work ethic and gracious attitude will be greatly missed. In her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Comcast California’s government relations efforts and will serve as the lead for all cable and telecommunications policy matters throughout the region.

We wish her all the best.

Christy Quinlan
Acting Secretary
