Over the next two months, the California 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Division will hold six public meetings on Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) in California. The Division is seeking public input on the future system to accept multimedia data (e.g. text, video and photo). NG9-1-1 will improve interoperability, call routing, congestion, overflow treatment and location accuracy. It will also strengthen system resiliency and reliability as well as increase opportunities to achieve fiscal and operational efficiency through cost-sharing arrangements.
The public meetings are scheduled for the following dates and locations:
