Did you know that research indicates that one of the top reasons cited for not volunteering is being unable to find a volunteer opportunity? Through its innovative California Volunteer Matching Network, CaliforniaVolunteers helps Californians find volunteer opportunities in a faster, easier and centralized way. The California Volunteer Matching Network is an innovative and streamlined platform that allows Californians an easier way to create a positive impact in their communities through service and volunteering. The Web site application brings volunteering opportunities straight to the user’s fingertips, allowing users to search more than 50,000 volunteer opportunities statewide.

Tapping into a statewide network of local and online volunteer connector tools, the California Volunteer Matching Network boasts the largest volunteer opportunity database in California. The Web site application allows users to search for a volunteer opportunity by interest area (Arts & Culture, Education & Youth, Animals & Environment, etc.), by zip code, or by entering a keyword search. The search results generate a host of categorized volunteer opportunities (one time, ongoing, full time or from home) that can be shared via e-mail or saved for future reference and comparison. The matching tool is also being incorporated into CaliforniaVolunteers’ social networking sites.
