This week, I am looking forward to a terrific opportunity to speak on a panel at CSU Sacramento. The event, held on Tuesday March 16, is being sponsored by Women in Technology International (WITI), a group I have been associated with for years. Joining me on stage will be distinguished speakers including Dr. Mary Jane Lee, a CSUS Faculty member, Manjeet Chocker, a Senior director for the Oracle Corporation, Kathy Wendt of SRA International and Joanna Jullien, author and Executive Consultant for Culture, Technology and Change.
WITI is a business association that promotes ways for women who work in the field of technology to network and share their knowledge. In fact, I am pleased to tell you that Sacramento now has a WITI chapter that meets on a regular basis featuring dynamic, tech savvy speakers.
It’s so important to encourage diversity in the world of science and technology, and by reaching out to young people, we are providing a forum to hopefully inspire some career choices that will benefit California’s technology community.
Regardless of whether or not you are a student, the CSUS event is open to anyone. The discussion will surely include great stories and wisdom from the many passionate professionals in attendance. If you are just starting your career or are a seasoned business person, I encourage anyone interested to go and participate in the forum. It promises to be a rewarding experience. The event starts at 4:00 p.m.. More information can be found here.
